HOW TO ADD FAVICON IN BLOGGER

Adding favicon in Blogger ( Blogspot ) or add favicon to Websites.

In the blogger or any website favicon is a small image of 16x16 or 32x32 which is used in the address bar of the browsers and also it appears in the browser tabs as you can see in the above image but why we have to use our own blogger favicon? The main advantage of favicon is, suppose you bookmarks a lot of sites into your browser and now you want to use a site which was bookmarks before so it will be difficult for finding to a particular site if they have same favicon as others and you know blogger has default inbuilt it's favicon so if you have the default one then change it to your own favicon so that your blog could be found easily in to your visitor's browsers among all the sites or blogs so it is if your favicon are unique and also unique blogger favicon gives a little bit professional look. Now how to add favicon in your blogger blog see the easy steps which are following ::


1. Choose your image of which you want to use as blogger favicon.

2. Basically your image should be 16x16 or 32x32 for blogger favicon so you can resize your selected image through Photoshop or any other software easily if you don't have any software for resizing the images then you can use free online tool Pic Resize see the picture below for creating 16x16 favicon.

Now save your favicon image to your desktop and upload it to any image hosting site. If you don't have any image hosting site for uploading your blogger favicon then you can use free image hosting site imageshack.us and get your direct link for your blogger favicon and copy it. Now see the below steps for how to add your blogger favicon in to your blogger template.

Sign in to your blogger dashboard :

-- > Click on Edit HTML ::

-- > [Don't forget to backup your template] Check box in " Expand Widget Templates " and find the code (using ctrl+F) ]]> just after ]]> code paste the below code ::

See in picture :

and look at preview if all is correct then save template. You done!

In the above picture I had use .gif format of favicon so if you want .gif format then you have to replace png which is in Red text in the above code with gif.
Similarly if you want to use .ico format for your blogger favicon then you have to replace png which is in Red text in the above code with x-icon.
